Bengaluru’s inaugural subterranean air-conditioned market, Palike Bazaar, situated in Vijayanagar alongside the Metro station and bus stand, was introduced to the public on Sunday. Notably, this establishment represents South India’s primary underground market, inspired by Delhi’s Palika Bazaar. Furthermore, a recent urban development in the city is the approval of the Tunnel Road initiative, intended to alleviate chronic traffic congestion in Bengaluru. The extensive 18-kilometer twin-tube tunnel stretching from Hebbal Flyover to Central Silk Board Junction is set to include five entry and exit points, although it will be some time before residents can utilize this new infrastructure.
